About Apollo Studio
13 years of experience in recording, mixing and mastering – from pop-rock bands to folk ensembles and chamber groups.
How it all began
My name is Jaro Plichta, and as a 12-year-old boy I was already recording my ideas from cassette to cassette, layering one track on top of another. After five tracks it was a beautiful thick wall of noise :-))
Later, as a young active musician, I visited various recording studios. I instantly fell in love with the smell of warmed-up tubes, detailed large-diaphragm microphones, precise monitors, acoustics you won’t find anywhere else, and a human approach.
I built my own first home studio and recorded myself and friends. As the years went by, it became clear a singing career probably wasn’t in the cards for me – so I fulfilled a different dream and built a professional recording studio. Welcome to it.
Today, 13 years later, Apollo Studio is still fulfilling dreams. We’ve recorded dozens of albums for bands and artists across genres – from pop-rock and metal to folk music.
Our Approach
We see recording, mixing and mastering as creative work, not just a technical service. The resulting sound is always a reflection of our artistic sensibility and experience – that’s why Apollo’s clients choose us based on our existing work and references, much like they’d choose a producer or a graphic designer. We’re happy to talk in advance about the sound you want to achieve, and just as importantly, what you want to avoid, so the result matches exactly what you had in mind.
Distraction-Free Recording, with On-Site Accommodation
The studio is located in the village of Párnica, in the beautiful surroundings of the Malá Fatra mountains – outside the city, by design. Accommodation and free parking are available right on site, so you can immerse yourself fully in recording an album for several days without having to worry about logistics. Ideal for bands who want to record with focus, away from everyday obligations.
